Marcelino Sobczak from the OLATclub and part of a 12-strong Dutch team. Marcelino continued well past the 131 laps needed to qualify as a Centurion, achieving over 111miles at the end of the 24 hours and taking the winning position for this race to add to his 4th place in the 100mile race (20hrs16:19).

The Isle of Man Veteran Atheletes' Club hosted the 2006 Race Walking Association National Long Distance Championship and UK Centurions 100mile Walk on 19th-20th August in the sheltered surroundings of the National Sports Cente in Douglas. (Started at 2pm). Race Walking Association Permit No. 17/06/27
Also: A 20mile Starlight Stroll at 10pm on Saturday 19th.
North of England Athletic Association, Course Accuracy Certificates: No. 06/029 for 20 miles and No. 06/030 for 100 miles.
Food and drink was provided to all athletes during the event. Goodie bags to all entrants included a commemorative ‘t’ shirt. Medal and certificate to all finishers.Prize presentation, including a light buffet was held shortly after 3pm on Sunday 20 August at the NSC sports hall.
